Scientific supervision over the preparation of a doctoral dissertation is provided by the supervisor or supervisors (including assistant supervisor). At least one of assigned supervisors must be employed at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The supervisor must be a person with a post-doctoral degree (doktor habilitowany) or a professor title. The assistant supervisor must be a person with at least a doctor degre (PhD).

The selection of the supervisor is made by the doctoral student by submitting an appropriate application to the Dean's Office of the Doctoral School within the first month of education (October or March). Later, during the ongoing eduction, the doctoral student may apply for appointment of a second supervisor or change of a supervisor.
