The next edition of the competition for the Rector's award for doctoral students at the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology has been launched. The award can be obtained:
- for outstanding scientific achievement related to the doctoral dissertation in progress obtained in academic year 2023/2024 (application template) or
- for organizational activities for the University completed in academic year 2023/2024 (application template).
Rules for submitting applications
- The deadline for submission of the application is 10.10.2024 at 14.00.
- A completed and signed hard copy of the application should be submitted to the Doctoral School office in building A-1 room 313.
- A scan (pdf version) of the application and an editable version of the application (docx or pdf) together with the pdf version of the attachments should be sent to the email address szkoladoktorska@pwr.edu.pl.
- In the case of applying for the Rector's award for outstanding scientific achievement, the application should be accompanied by a printout of achievements from the DONA system with obtained publications and citations for the assessed period, i.e. for the period 1.10.2023-30.09.2024. Regulations
According to the Regulations of Rector’s awards for doctoral students of the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology specified in Internal Regulations No. 50/2024:
- The Rector's award may be granted to a doctoral student who, in the academic year subject to assessment, pursued education at the Doctoral School in the first, second, third or fourth year of education. The award may be granted to a person who completed education at the Doctoral School no later than in the fourth year of education and before the deadline for submitting applications for a given academic year.
- The amount of the Rector's award does not exceed 50% of the minimum basic monthly salary for a professor at a public university. The amounts of awards granted for a given academic year are determined by the Rector.
- The Rector grants the award on his own initiative, at the request of the vice-rector, the dean of the Doctoral School, the head of the educational discipline, the chairman of the scientific discipline council or the dean of the faculty.
- Awards are made by a committee appointed by the Vice-Rector for Science. The committee shall determine the rules for the assessment of applications. On the basis of the assessment of the submitted applications, and after consulting the Doctoral Students' Council, the committee draws up two separate ranking lists of doctoral students, respectively: for awards for scientific achievements and for awards for organisational activities.
