An individual research plan is one of the important milestones in the implementation of a doctorate. Pursuant to the provisions of the Polish law, the doctoral student is required to submit an individual research plan to the Dean of the Doctoral School within 12 months from the date of commencement of education.
An individual research plan should define the topic of the doctoral dissertation and its main theses, as well as a detailed schedule for the preparation of the doctoral dissertation, specifying the stages and places of research, including the dates of completion of partial studies and the preparation of their results. In addition, the individual research plan should specify the date of submission of the doctoral dissertation.
More details on the individual research plan can be found here.
Failure to submit an individual research plan by the indicated deadline may be the basis for removing a doctoral student from the Doctoral School.
The implementation of an individual research plan is subject to mid-term evaluation in the middle of the education period - after the fourth semester, in September.
The doctoral student, in consultation with the supervisor or supervisors, prepares the individual research plan containing, in particular, a schedule for preparing a doctoral dissertation. When an assistant supervisor is appointed, the individual research plan should be reviewed by him/her.
More details on the individual research plan can be found here.
